Kasey Libby

Kasey Libby is a top Atlanta estate attorney and owner of The Libby Law Firm.

Kasey graduated cum laude from the Georgia State University College of Law in 2007 following his completion of his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Georgia with honors. While in law school, Mr. Libby participated in moot court competitions and served as the Moot Court’s president. Also, Mr. Libby served as a mediator for the Fulton County State Court’s landlord/tenant program during his final academic year, mediating over 100 dispossessory and small claims cases.

Since he graduated in the spring of 2007, Mr. Libby has grown an estate planning and litigation practice. Mr. Libby provides estate planning guidance and prepares related documents such as simple and complex wills, general and limited powers of attorney, and healthcare directives, as well as a variety of trust including credit shelter trusts, qualified retirement plan trusts, QTIP trusts, irrevocable life insurance trusts, special needs trusts, and Miller trusts. Mr. Libby also provides guidance in the probate process and represents clients in submitting petitions for estate administrations, will probates, year’s support, guardianships, and conservatorships. If a dispute arises during the administration of an estate, Mr. Libby can help his clients achieve a resolution without litigation and, if litigation becomes necessary, advocates passionately for his clients’ rights.

Appellate Cases

The Hudson Trio, LLC v. Buckhead Cmty. Bank, 304 Ga. App. 324, 696 S.E.2d 372 (2010): successfully defended appeal attacking (1) competency of expert testimony that real estate auctioned at foreclosure sold for fair market value; (2) competency of appraisal performed after foreclosure sale; and (3) notice of the foreclosure based on failure to properly identify the seller.
